Union Minister for Earth Sciences, Harsh Vardhan, on Friday unveiled the Seismology Observatory at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir. The observatory will help map earthquake activity in the region.

The Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Mahesh Sharma, on Wednesday unveiled a seismology observatory in Udhampur, which will help in understanding the occurrence of earthquakes and their impact. The observatory will be operational from next year.Mr Sharma said that the observatory would help in providing early warning to people about impending earthquakes. He also said that it would also help in improving the response time of agencies during an earthquake.


Union Minister for Earth Sciences, Dr. Harsh Vardhan unveiled Seismology Observatory in Udhampur on Monday.


The Seismology Observatory will be situated at the Department of Earth Sciences, Panjab University, Udhampur. It is an important observatory for studying seismicity and its impact on the environment. The observatory will help in monitoring seismic events and their effects on the environment.

Dr Harsh Vardhan said that the observatory would also help in understanding the origin and cause of earthquakes. He said that the observatory would be a valuable tool for disaster management and for keeping a tab on the seismic activity in India.


The observatory will be used to study earthquakes and other seismic activities in the region.


Union Minister for Earth Sciences Prakash Javadekar unveiled the Seismology Observatory in Udhampur on Sunday. The observatory, which is set to be operational by January 2019, will be used to study earthquakes and other seismic activities in the region. The observatory will also help in monitoring earthquakes that occur elsewhere in the world. The observatory was inaugurated by Javadekar along with officials from the Geological Survey of India (GSI). "The observatory would act as a nodal point for gathering data on earthquakes, volcanoes and landslides that take place in the region," said GSI Director General S K Srivastava.


It will also help in the forecast of earthquakes.

The Union Minister for Earth Sciences, H.E. Dr. Mahesh Sharma, on Wednesday unveiled a seismology observatory in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. The observatory will help in the forecast of earthquakes. The minister said that the observatory would provide important data for the development of safer infrastructure and detect possible tremors early.


The observatory is expected to be operational by 2020.


The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari inaugurated a Seismology Observatory in Udhampur on Saturday. The observatory is expected to be operational by the end of this year.


The observatory will help in forecasting earthquakes and monitor their intensity as well. It will also help in studying the behaviour of the earth's crust and its seismic activity.


The observatory is situated in Udhampur district, which is located in the north-western part of Jammu and Kashmir.


Union Minister reiterated that the government is committed to developing seismology as an important science discipline.
