Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri today launched the sixth edition of the SVANidhi Mahotsav, an annual festival to celebrate Sanskrit language and literature. The festival will be held from February 11-17, 2019 in New Delhi.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Information and Broadcasting Hardeep Singh Puri today inaugurated the fourth edition of the SVANidhi Mahotsav, an annual festival celebrating Hindi literature. The event was organised by the Sahitya Akademi in cooperation with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).


Speaking on the occasion, Minister Puri said that Hindi literature had a rich tradition and was appreciated all over the world. He urged citizens to read Hindi literature and appreciate its beauty.


What is SVANidhi Mahotsav?


Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Sunday launched SVANidhi Mahotsav, a three-day cultural festival to be held in Varanasi from December 3-5. The festival will feature a wide range of performances by artists from across the country.


SVANidhi Mahotsav is an initiative of the Union Ministry of Culture, which aims to promote Indian classical, folk and modern music and dance.


The Objectives of SVANidhi Mahotsav


The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, launched the 11th edition of the SVANidhi Mahotsav at the Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi on Wednesday. The objective of this annual festival is to promote the use of sanitation and waste management facilities in rural areas.


According to Puri, more than 70% of India's population lives in rural areas, and yet they suffer from poor hygiene conditions. This is because many people in rural areas do not have access to proper sanitation facilities or refuse to use them out of tradition or lack of awareness. The SVANidhi Mahotsav aims to change this by motivating rural residents to adopt better waste management practices.


SVANidhi Mahotsav is organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with various other government agencies, such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). So far, it has organized festivals in over 1,000 villages across India.


The Participants of SVANidhi Mahotsav


Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri launched the seventeenth edition of the SVANidhi Mahotsav at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Convention Centre here today. The event, which is being organised by the Social Welfare and Women Development Ministry, will be held from October 1 to October 7 in various parts of the country.


The participants of the mahotsav include eminent artists and intellectuals such as Ashok Gehlot, Kiran Bedi, Kamal Haasan and Akhilesh Das Gupta. A total of 563 people have been selected for the event out of which 358 are artists and 167 are intellectuals. The minister said that this edition of SVANidhi Mahotsav aims to create awareness about women's issues and their contributions to society.


How to Participate in SVANidhi Mahotsav


The Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, has launched the SVANidhi Mahotsav, an annual event to promote the arts and culture. The SVANidhi Mahotsav will be held from September 26 to October 2, 2018 in various cities across India.


To participate in the SVANidhi Mahotsav, artists and cultural organisations need to register online by August 15. The festival will comprise of music concerts, dance performances, film screenings, and literary programmes. Registration fee is Rs. 5,000 for individual artists and Rs. 10,000 for organisations.

How to Sponsor a Child for SVANidhi Mahotsav


The Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Hardeep Singh Puri has launched the 'SVANidhi Mahotsav' to encourage people to sponsor a child for the upcoming Navratri festival. The Mahotsav is an annual event organised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in association with various children welfare organisations. This year, the Mahotsav will be held from October 04-06.


To participate in the Mahotsav, sponsorships are available for children aged between 3 and 18 years old. The cost of sponsorship is Rs 1,500 per child.
