Chhattisgarh CM Suposhan Abhiyan

 Chhattisgarh CM Suposhan Abhiyan, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has started Mukhyamantri Suprabhat Abhiyan to tackle the menace of malnutrition and anemia. Under the CG CM Subhashan Abhiyan, the state government will provide nutritious food to mothers and children. As a mark of the official launch of the campaign, the CM has offered "laddoos" made of groundnut and jaggery to the children. This campaign has been launched at full state level on 2nd October 2019 on 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Malnutrition is a challenge for the state of Chhattisgarh as well as the entire country. In the last 18 years, the per capita income in the state has increased but has become poorer and poorer and Chhattisgarh has about 37% malnourished people. Taking this as a challenge, the CM launched “Suposhit Dantewada” campaign and projected “Harik Nani Bera” as the biggest fight against malnutrition for Bastar district.

CG Chief Minister Nutrition Campaign

For the implementation of a state level campaign to fight against malnutrition, the state government has launched CG Mukhyamantri Supshan Abhiyan. The important features and salient features of this campaign are as follows:-

Children and mothers will be given nutritious food everyday. This CM Suposhan Abhiyan is for children in the age group of 0 to 5 years and girls and women in the age group of 15 to 49 years.

CG govt. will provide additional nutrition of groundnut eggs, jaggery and laddoos twice a week. The primary objective is to curb malnutrition and anemia.

The pilot project of Harik Nani Bera campaign was already started in Bastar. Around 70,000 children and 9,000 mothers were getting nutritious food in various Anganwadi centers which are now extended across the state.

The Department of Women and Child Welfare will implement the Supan Abhiyan. Priority will be given to local nutritious food and the government will distribute iron tablets and anthelmintic medicines.

CG Government will provide free nutritious food daily to each Gram Panchayat identified beneficiary.

DMF will be developed to provide fruits, milk, poultry, soybean, laddu, bhaji and other alternative nutritious food to the beneficiaries.

There will be participation of government and non-government charitable organizations in this. 

Anganwadis, schools and other distribution centers identified by the district administration will distribute nutritious food.

The PDS system has been strengthened to provide Rice, Sugar, Salt, Gram and Kerosene. There will be community consciousness and accountable administration.

A massive statewide campaign has been launched to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi to make the state malnutrition free.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Nutrition Campaign

Malnutrition and anemia prevalent in children below the age of 06 years in Chhattisgarh state and anemia prevalent among women in the age group of 15 to 49 years is a challenge which it was decided to eradicate it from the root. According to the survey report of NFHS-4 in the state of Chhattisgarh. According to this, about 37.7 percent children in the age group of less than 5 years are suffering from malnutrition and 47 percent women in the age group of 15 to 49 years are suffering from anemia.

For positive improvement in the nutritional level of children and women, "Suposhit Dantewada Abhiyan" was started on 24th June 2019 in tribal dominated Dantewada district as per the intention of Hon'ble Chief Minister. Chief Minister Suposhan Abhiyan has been started from 02 October 2019 on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
